Reverend Garrett, originally from Bristol, Virginia, graduated from Virginia High School. He has served in various roles within the local church, including Sunday School teacher, Music Minister, and Lay Leader. In 2014, he began his ministry and received his first appointment in Russell County, VA.
Reverend Garrett participates in several leadership committees within the Clinch Mountain District of the UMC and Holston Conference. Reverend Garrett is a substitute teacher in Washington County as well as a Middle School football coach, he loves helping the youth within the community..
Reverend Garrett enjoys many activities outside the church, such as golf, softball nd the gym. Reverend Garrett is an avid artist and enjoys creating art. He is supported in his work by his wife Jeannie, his son Evan, and three daughters: Emilie, Kyndal and Aubrey.
